What To Know About Timber Deck Construction?

Timber decking in Sydney has been and remains the most demanded option for flooring in a private house. Modern technologies allow high-quality processing of wood to obtain floorboards with locks and high-quality finishes.

In terms of the microclimate in the apartment, timber floors are ahead of any other flooring. Natural materials always look more attractive. Wooden floors in an apartment are always up-to-date and are a sign of good taste. The environmental friendliness of this material allows you to use it in the design of any room, even a children's room.

Why is a timber deck good?

• The advantages of wooden floors:

Wood is undeniably the most environmentally friendly flooring material available today.

Due to its hypoallergenic and antistatic properties, it can be laid even in bedrooms and children's rooms.

• Wood is a versatile material:

The timber flooring will effectively fit into both the classic design and the Empire style.

Excellent thermal insulator:

As an excellent thermal insulator, wood creates a comfortable indoor atmosphere. It is pleasant to walk on such a surface barefoot.

Timber deck construction is common nowadays due to their environmental friendliness. But not only environmental friendliness distinguishes wooden floors from others, but also reliability and thermal conductivity. The most common wood floors are laminate, parquet, plank, and wood-based panels.

When used correctly, wood floors are the most durable. When starting the installation of wooden floors, you should pay attention to the air humidity in the room, which should not exceed 60%. The room temperature should not be lower than +8 degrees.

It is also recommended to opt for timber deck construction when you need something classy for your area.

There must be ventilation under the floor to prevent the appearance of mould and mildew. In Soviet times, wooden floors were made and ventilation was not arranged, so there is a lot of mold and an unpleasant smell in such rooms.

When constructing a lag, it is necessary to wrap the edges of the lag with roofing material, which will help save the tree from the appearance of mould.

Plank floors are arranged directly along the beams if the step of the beams is not large. The distance between the lags is 800-850 mm. for boards 35-40 mm thick. If thicker boards are used, then the step between the lags can be increased to 1 m, with thinner ones - reduced to 500-600 mm.

When installing a lag for sound insulation, gaskets of soft fiberboard impregnated with an antiseptic are installed between the lags and the support part. When installing a wooden floor on brick posts, it is necessary to constantly check the level with a levelling device so that there are no slopes. The step of the columns depends on the thickness of the lag, for example, with a lag thickness of 50 mm. The lag step is 1100 mm.

During timber deck construction, it is necessary to lay the wood on a solid base, then use logs 25 mm thick. and 80-100 mm wide. and also use fiberboard spacers.
