Sublimation Printing On Metal And Why It Is Useful

The basis of the sublimation metal sheets is anodized sheets of aluminium, coated on top with a unique polymer composition, which provides high-quality fixing of sublimation ink. As a rule, plates with a thickness of 0.5 - 0.6 mm are used. Aluminium metal sheets for sublimation are necessary for transferring images using sublimation ink and a flat thermal press, and the image is transferred directly to the plate itself. The process does not differ at all from transferring to other types of sublimation blanks. An inkjet printer, filled with sublimation ink, prints the image on a special sublimation paper, after which, use a flat thermal press, the image is transferred to an aluminium plate with a special coating.

Aluminium sublimation metal sheets are used for the manufacture of a wide variety of products like souvenirs, signs in offices, business cards, signage, and pointers.

After completing the process of image transfer, the plate can be easily glued to a wooden plaque (frame or stand), so that the product takes the form of a unique and unusually expensive gift.

The sublimation printing on metal differs in extremely high stability and durability. Even with prolonged use, the product does not lose its original appearance; the paints do not wear off and do not fade, providing the highest quality sublimation on the surface.
It is worth noting that the surface of the material can have a very different texture and colour scheme, be glossy or matte - in any case, consistently high print quality is guaranteed. White, silver, and gold are the most commonly used colours.

Sublimation printing on metal and its advantages:

Convenience and ease of manufacture
Even an unprepared person can cope with work without proper experience, knowledge, and skills.

Manufacturing of products can be in rooms with a small area
The equipment itself, its components, and consumables do not take up much space, due to which they can be placed not only in printing houses but also in ordinary photo studios, photo salons, and even offices. The technological process is entirely safe and non-toxic; therefore, regular ventilation is quite enough for comfortable work.

The production runs for one piece without increasing cost
The technology of sublimation printing does not provide for the manufacture of printing forms or cliches.

Printing images of any degree of complexity (including full-colour images).
It all depends entirely on the functionality of your inkjet printer.

The resistance of transferred images to wear and abrasion
During the thermal transfer to the material, sublimation ink is fixed at the molecular level in the surface, which allows the image on the metal to be resistant to even the most severe mechanical stresses.

Realistic colours
The image during transfer is unusually bright and saturated.

It provides a high-quality result at a reasonably low price.

The resulting product will be unique.

The essence of sublimation technology is that through the use of an intermediate medium (sublimation paper), the ink is exposed to high pressure and temperature, and they are transferred to a metal plate and fixed inside its surface.
