A Vivid Description Of A Hot Water Storage Tank

A tank which stores hot water can also be known as thermal storage tank, hot water cylinder, storage hot water tank. It is a tank which is used for storing hot water for domestic and commercial uses such as bathing, washing and even in hot water plants.

Working of a hot water storage tank
There are mainly two types of storage hot water tank i.e. the external and the internal gas storage hot water system. The later is used domestically for personal purpose, these are installed in the house and must be supplied from outside and external gas storage system which goes through the harsh climate outside. Both of them have been around for more than 100 years and the technology is known to us for a long time where it has been improved all this time and the gas storage hot water tank needs somewhere around thirty to forty minutes to heat the water in it which maybe 135 litres.
The working of a gas storage hot water tank is simple the cold water is supplied into the tank where it is heated by the gas burner kept below it at its base. The water can be heated to the temperature as per the requirement and hence the water temperature can be regulated with the help of a thermostat which can be controlled by labour.
A duct for smoke comes out of the bottom part of the hot water storage tank which goes and reaches the top of the loch which slows the heat which is formed from the gas burner from to effectively transfer the generated heat with the help of the burner to the water which is stored. A hot water storage tank can use natural gas or LPG to heat up the water which is supplied by pipes.
Polyurethane foam is used to insulate the storage hot water tank so that it can prevent loss of heat to the environment by conduction or convection. The bubble which is stuck inside the polyurethane layer or foam is a very bad conductor of heat so the loss of heat is minimized, and hence hot water can be stored in a hot water storage tank for a longer time.
The hot water storage tank stores water at a degree of 140-degree centigrade and in order to lower the temperature it is mixed with cold water and hence it can be reduced to a temperature of 110 to 120-degree centigrade when it is supplied.
The hot water storage tank has a life of eight to ten years, if the storage hot water tank is maintained properly then it can work for more years. Continuous storage hot water system flow can use electricity to heat stored gas or LPG.
Final Word
We know that electric system is more energy-efficient than a system which uses gas for heating stored water in the tank when compared to electricity or LPG the heating capacity of gas is the highest hence it dissipates heat in a better way and thereby increases its efficiency.
