Apply pressure: When you use masking tape on any surface, always apply pressure to ensure that the tape forms a firm bond with the surface. Otherwise, dust, as well as other particulates, could get into the gap between the surface and the tape, and this could cause the adhesive to become less effective.
Painting: It is not unknown for painters to use masking tape to mark the boundaries as they paint the wall.
