Epoxy Floor Cleaner and Your Non Slip Floors

One of the biggest concerns there can be when you have certain types of flooring is that it will become a slip hazard. There has to be a way to make sure that you can have the good looking floor that you want and not worry about the consequences. You don’t have to wait a long time for the floor to be safe, as there are a number of products that work with just one application and are slip-free within hours. The big problem is that people can fall so there will be injuries, and in some cases, there can be compensation claims.

Even when that is not a problem, there can be disrupted work as the person who fell can have injuries that prevent them from performing correctly. An ideal form of non-slip floor treatment is one that works by way of a chemical reaction rather than a coating that will wear away over time. If the product can combat grease and oil, then you know you have your floor covered correctly. There are times when you can carry out this yourself, but you can also turn to professionals who will do the job for you. When carrying out non slip floor treatment, there are a number of benefits including:

  • Fewer accidents
  • Safe even when there is water being placed on it.
  • One application can last for a number of years.
  • Look for one that is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
  • Cannot be seen
  • Improves the appearance of the floor
  • Prevents bacteria from settling.
  • Conforms to the relevant safety standards.

Cleaning

Once the floor has been treated, you will want to keep it clean and there are certain things that have to be taken into account.  If you make a mistake, you can cause damage but looking after it is easy. Dirt will cause damage to the epoxy and once damaged, it is no longer waterproof. Before cleaning, make sure all dirt has been brushed away. Ensure that the epoxy floor cleaner product you use is suitable and that you follow the instructions when mixing them.

Now you can start mopping and make sure that you cover the entire floor as any area missed cannot be waterproof or slip-proof. You also have to select a suitable mop. If you use anything other than rayon, there is the risk that the fibres will adhere to the floor. If you are not happy with the results, you can be a little harsher on areas that have not become as clean as you would like. A scrubbing brush should be all you need and can be used with the same epoxy floor cleaner that you used previously. Again, make sure that the bristles are soft.

The final stage will be to rinse the floor and take as much of the product as possible away. You also have to remove any extra water that has stayed there as you are leaving yourself open to the accidents that you have been trying so hard to avoid. A foam sponge will be the ideal way to finish the job to your satisfaction.
