Exploring And Finding The Best Sublimation Printing Solution

A sublimation printer is a magical tool when you wish to make your designs' world into reality. From inking your favourite t-shirt to your coffee mug, you can customize dresses, smartphone cases, furniture, tiles, etc., using a Sublimation Printer.
The various sublimation works achieved using a sublimation printer are like any other Inkjet printer. These printers come with different pre-installed ink cartridges. In this process, the solid form of an image in digital form under the gas and heat pressure first turns into the gaseous state. Then the ink is allowed to penetrate the pores of those items where the design has to come up. Hence a permanent design gets ready.

While the sublimation printing process is going on, one must choose the best designs carefully. We have mentioned some sublimation printing solutions necessary to get better outputs.

1) Substrate & Heat Press Inequality
When there is dissimilarity in heat processes and substrates, the required heat press settings may vary in keeping with the environment. Hence, the given time, pressure and temperature setting must be tested first and set well, so there is hardly any poor image quality. To get the required temperature, calibrate the heating process. One should keep a record of the best temperature, time and pressure point for a particular product design.

2) Suggested Substrates & Paper
Always use the recommended substrates, sublimation paper and printers while sublimation transfer. This variation shows the difference in the transmission, prints and finished designs which are as per the desired design.

3) Margins
While printing margins and overlaps, you should note that they are 1/4 inch bigger than the substrate’s size to which the printing ink transfers. Hence the margin of error is created. When this process is implemented carefully, everything falls under alignment during the heating process.

4) Check Scorching
When the temperature is set to high, it will take less time during scorch prevention. Scorching happens when the paper and the substrate get hotter for a long time. Due to this paper or required image can get blurred, no image transfer will be there, or any such issue may arise.

5) Prevent washed-out images
While transferring sublimation ink to the substrate, one should note that a sufficient temperature and time combination is necessary. If the combination is insufficient, the image may appear washed out. To get a complete transfer, keep an eye on the combination. If the image is washed-out in specific areas, then increase the pressure.

6) Cool the Images
The image needs some time to cool down when the printing process is complete with the sublimation printer. For this, remove the printed paper carefully and place it for cooling. If some residues are left on the substrate, use isopropyl alcohol to remove the stains.

7) Software Template
Software templates are a good option when you want to design different substrates. You can download these substrates from the providers.
